Joan Marlow - SARA Practitioner

Michele Rodriguez - SARA Practitioner

Michele Rodriguez is one of the founding members of SARA and is an animal Reiki practitioner. Having recently completed Certification as a Veterinarian Assistant, Michele plans to integrate her personal passion and professional skills towards helping and healing animals on all levels of being-physical,mental and spiritual. Michele's goal is to educate and share with other's the power and efficacy of Reiki energy work. Michele currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her new rescue dog, Paisley, who has been a "sponge" for Reiki energy from her very first session. Michele is available for consults and appointments.

Cindie Ambar - SARA Practitioner

Cindie Ambar is a SARA Practitioner trained at the Usui Reiki Master’s level by Kathleen Prasad and focuses on Equine Reiki in the Santa Cruz County area.   She is the founder of her own non-profit which helps horses in sanctuaries and shelters. Cindie has happily volunteered at Pregnant Mare Rescue in Watsonville, California since April 2011 where she discovered her life’s purpose with horses.

Cathy Currea - SARA Practitioner

Cathy Currea is a SARA Practitioner located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cathy Currea is an Animal Reiki Practitioner, and Humane Educator with over 20 years’ experience helping animals around the world. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Education. Cathy is also an author who has contributed to the books, Reiki for Dogs; Animals In Spirit; and Awakening to Animals Voices.  Cathy offers long distance and in-person Animal Reiki treatments to help your animal family feel their very best. Cathy works with behavioral, physical, emotional and spiritual issues and specializes in helping animals who are sick, chronically ill, elderly or dying including hospice support and grief counseling.

Kathy Edwards - SARA Teacher

Kathy Edwards is a SARA Teacher who was born and raised in the San Francisco area. She has studied with Kathleen Prasad since 2010 and recently opened her own alternative animal health business. She currently volunteers in San Mateo County and is available for in person and distant treatments. 

Deanna Graham - SARA Practitioner

Deanna Graham is an animal Reiki practitioner who lives in Palo Alto, California.  Deanna currently volunteers at Homeless Cat Network and Nine Lives Foundation.  She served on the Nine Lives Foundation Board of Directors and as their volunteer coordinator.  In the past, she has volunteered at the Humane Society Silicon Valley.

Jody Huth - SARA Teacher

Jody Huth lives in San Francisco with her husband and two cats, Scout, and Willie who instigated the Reiki journey. She has studied Animal Reiki I and II , as well as the Animal Reiki correspondence courses, with Kathleen, and is looking forward to the Shinpiden Level III class with Frans Stiene in April 2009. She currently volunteers at the SF Animal Care and Control shelter.

Charlotte Jensen - Communications and Media Relations Manager

Charlotte Jensen is an internationally published journalist with more than 14 years’ experience in media and communications. Charlotte was previously executive editor of Entrepreneur magazine, where she played a leading role in shaping editorial content and direction for the award-winning publication. In 2004, after her cat was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, she studied Reiki I under Kathleen Prasad and subsequently managed the disease for several years by combining Reiki with traditional veterinary medicine. Based in Orange, California, Charlotte offers editorial services to corporations and nonprofits nationwide.

Kristin Dodds - SARA Practitioner

Kristin Dodds is an Animal Reiki Practitioner based in San Francisco, California.  She spends her extra time volunteering with Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. Guide Dogs is a non-profit organization that provides enhanced mobility to qualified blind and visually impaired individuals through partnerships with uniquely skilled dogs.  Kristin also likes to travel the world.  During her travels she likes to volunteer at organizations promoting animal welfare.  The accompanying picture was taken during her time volunteering at Elephant Nature Park in Northern Thailand, which is an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center.  She lives in San Francisco with her life partner, Joe.

Lorraine Lannoye - SARA Practitioner

Lorraine Lannoye is a SARA Practitioner, having studied Reiki Level I and Level 2 with Leah D'Ambrosio of SARA, and Level 3 with Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki. Lorraine's volunteer efforts have included Best Friends Animal Society Network, Humane Society Silicon Valley, and Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. She resides in the Bay Area with her husband and three cats.

Sasha Nelson - SARA Practitioner

Sasha Nelson has 15 years experience and training in the animal healing arts. She is an animal Reiki practitioner and a certified equine massage therapist.  Sasha's career started with a focus on massage and physical therapy for horses, and has evolved into a Reiki practice for all animals, both large and small.  Her life-long ability to intuitively hear and feel animals' stories, pain, trauma, worries and needs makes Reiki healing a natural extension of her inherent gifts.  Sasha lives and works in Sebastopol, CA, where she volunteers at The Flag Foundation, a sanctuary ranch that fosters horse/human partnership. Sasha offers Reiki to animals throughout Sonoma, Napa and Marin, and Sacramento and is also available for distance healing.

Cathy O'Brien - SARA Practitioner

Cathy O’Brien is a Master Level III Animal Reiki Practitioner based in Pacifica, California, who has been doing energy and healing work since the mid 1990’s. Her life-long love and passion for animals led her to the desire to alleviate their pain and dis-ease on any level. Cathy has worked with many different animals, including cats, dogs, horses, birds, rabbit and more. She is on the Board of Directors of the California Gray Whale Coalition. Cathy’s mission is to help animals heal on all levels, to help people deepen their connection with their animals and, on a bigger scale, to change the way people see and treat animals – making this planet a more peaceful and safe place for all beings. Cathy is available for in-person Reiki treatments anywhere along the Northern California Peninsula, from San Jose to Pacifica. She is also available for distant sessions.

Linda Patrick - SARA Practitioner

Linda Patrick is an Animal Reiki Practitioner and does Energy healing and communication. Currently she is volunteering for SAFER (Sonoma Action For Equine Rescue). She has worked with therapeutic riding horses, using Reiki, in Colorado and California as well as the local wildlife. Linda is also the website designer for SARA and lives in Santa Rosa, CA.

Dale Payne - SARA Practitioner

Dale Payne is located in South Lake Tahoe, California, and is a Reiki Practitioner who loves being surrounded by animals and earthly things including her cats and dog, garden and its wild inhabitants, crystals and stones, etc. She practices and encourages critter-friendly gardening, and cares for our planet by treading lightly. She loves offering Reiki to others, especially animals. Her dream is to offer Reiki to elephants, wild cats, whales and other sea critters.  Dale currently volunteers weekly at the El Dorado County animal shelter, and has previously volunteered at Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, both located in South Lake Tahoe, California.  Dale offers treatments and distant Reiki.

Robin Skov is a level 3 Reiki practitioner specializing in senior animals, farm animal and animals rescued from abuse. She has studied with Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source and with Frans Stiene of International House of Reiki. Through her organization, she donates a portion of her time to animals living in shelters and sanctuaries in the greater Los Angeles area. She also supports several non-profit animal protection organizations by donating her fees through her pay-it-forward donation program. Animals have been her teachers, friends and companions for as long as she can remember and sharing Reiki with them allows her to give back some of the beauty, joy, and healing they have brought to her life.

Linda Kingsbury - SARA Teacher

Linda Kingsbury, PhD, resides in Moscow, Idaho and teaches primarily in Idaho but also travels to Hawaii, Arizona, and Florida during the winter. She is open to visiting your area to share her skills at your rescue, ranch, or farm. Since August 2010, she has been volunteering at Orphan Acres Equine Rescue, Rehabilitation & Sanctuary in Viola, Idaho. Her love for the natural world and hobby of swimming with wild dolphins in the open oceans supports all her work. She believes animals teach us about unconditional love, expand our multisensory awareness, and enhance our ability to communicate in a respectful way with all creation.

Lynne Crowton is a SARA Practitioner residing in Michigan who currently donates Reiki treatments to the animals at the Michigan Animal Rescue League. Through her Reiki practice, Lynne has had the opportunity to work with various species of animals in shelters throughout the mid-west as a volunteer since 2006.

Sue Lovell - Practitioner

Sue Lovell is an animal Reiki practitioner serving the Hillsdale/Jackson/Lenawee Counties in Michigan.  She has completed the Shoden, Okuden, and Shinpiden levels of Animal Reiki with Kathleen Prasad, and is also a Reiki Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho method. She volunteers at the Cascades Humane Society in Jackson, Michigan.  She also has animal Reiki experience with many different species of domestic, wild local, and  exotic animals.

Camille Pukay's passion is meeting animals and their people helping to re-balance their animals through Animal Reiki, animal communication, and spirit-led energy work.  Camille  practices and teaches Animal Reiki in Kansas City, Missouri.  A founding member of SARA, she teaches Animal Reiki for non-profit animal organizations.  Camille volunteers at Changing Leads Equine Rescue in Kansas City, Missouri, helping with rescue horses. Spirit-led energy work has enabled Camille to have clients all over the United States by working in-person or distance sessions.

Julie Keefe - SARA Teacher

Julie Keefe, resides in Cincinnati, Ohio and serves the southwestern Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana region.  She has been a Reiki practitioner since 2000.  Her classes have been attended by local veterinarians, rescue fosterers, and shelter volunteers.  She is a volunteer with the League for Animal Welfare and Greyhound Adoption of Greater Cincinnati, and offers Reiki classes through Save the Animals Foundation.  She shares her home with rescued greyhound, Phoebe, as well as two rescued cats, Garrett and Tansy.

Barbara Rubin - SARA Teacher

Barbara Rubin lives in Canton, Ohio, and believes that animals are our teachers and feels very privileged to work with domestic and wild animals. She is a Reiki Master, a SARA Practitioner/Teacher, and a Healing Touch for Animals Certified Practitioner. She enjoys volunteering at Sanders Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Massillon, Ohio and other Northeastern Ohio rescue organizations, sharing Reiki and healing energy with orphaned, injured, and homeless animals.

She received her Animal Reiki Teacher training from Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source.  Ann volunteers Reiki at Iveloharele Retirement Sanctuary, 3 B’s Cat Rescue, Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary, Holyland Donkey Haven and Special Memories Zoo.  Ann and her husband Alan founded a pet treat bakery in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a wellness center that offers energy healing services and education for animals and their people.  Ann’s animal teachers include two dogs, Annie Oakley and Amber, two cats, Autumn and April, and her beloved dog Amanda (1996-2010) who is her inspiration and guide on her journey of supporting animals. Ann is willing to travel to teach classes.

Debora Poynter - SARA Practitioner

Tracy Houchins - SARA Teacher

Tracy Houchins is a licensed Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner through the International Center for Reiki Training and her own wellness studio in Marriottsville, Maryland.  Her passion for her work with Reiki and animals led her to study with many celebrated teachers, including Kathleen Prasad, of SARA.  She teaches the Usui/Tibetan tradition of Reiki and incorprates Animal Reiki techniques in her curriculum.  Tracy offers a monthly Reiki Share for Reiki Practitioners at her studio in Marriottsville.

Suz Letschin - SARA Practitioner

Suz Letschin is an animal Reiki practitioner from Forest Hill, Maryland. She trained with Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki and with Kathleen Prasad.  She has volunteered with a local Greyhound rescue group for the past 20 years. Bill Stevens is a Reiki Master who has practiced Reiki for twenty years with a focus on people dealing with life threatening illnesses.  More recently he has also studied with Kathleen Prasad as an animal Reiki practitioner and teacher.  He presently lives in Asbury Park NJ, works with the VNA Hospice as a Reiki Practitioner, and has volunteered at both the local Humane Society and  the SPCA in offering Reiki to their animals.  He also maintains a private practice to respond to both human and animal needs with the goal being to encourage people to learn Reiki to care for themselves and their pets.

Diane Anderson - SARA Teacher

Jeanne Clune - SARA Practitioner

Jeanne Clune is a SARA Practitioner residing in Mount Kisco, NY. She received her Animal Reiki training with SARA Teacher Kelly McDermott-Burns, and has completed her Usui Advanced Reiki Training. She is the owner of her own dog obedience and animal Reiki business. She volunteers weekly at the Westchester SPCA as an Animal Reiki practitioner and dog trainer.

Jeanne is a forever animal lover and has shared her home with a variety of wonderful animal angels. She also enjoys visiting animal sanctuaries when she travels. In South Africa, she had an amazing experience offering Reiki to cheetah cubs. After several minutes of meditation, she opened her eyes to find first one, then all six, licking her palms. Cheetah tongues are great exfoliators!

Sarah Hauser - SARA Practitioner

Sarah Hauser lives and works in New York City and the surrounding areas.  She is an animal Reiki practitioner and is also certified in Tellington TTouch for Companion Animals and Bach Flower Remedies.  The combination of Reiki and the other modalities she uses can help to address a wide range of physical, emotional and behavioral issues, which can be especially helpful for shelter animals, who are most often traumatized in a number of ways. She volunteers at Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC Shelter), offering Reiki, Tellington TTouch and Bach Flower Remedies; with Tavi and Friends' TTouch-in-Rescue Program; with other rescue organizations and with private clients.

Liz Wassell - SARA Teacher

Liz Wassell is a SARA Teacher based in upstate New York who has studied with Kathleen Prasad. She volunteers at the Ulster County SPCA and Animal Farm Foundation, both in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. She is also a founding member of her local community Reiki group. Liz offers animal Reiki treatments and is willing to travel.

Pennsylvania

Kris is a Reiki Practitioner/Teacher and has been practicing Reiki since 1992.  She trained in Animal Reiki with Kathleen Prasad of SARA in 2009.  In 2010, Kris trained with Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki.  For the past two years Kris has been a Reiki volunteer at Wildlife Works, a wildlife rescue and refuge in Youngwood.  This past August, Kris started offering Reiki to animals at The Animal Friends of Westmoreland, a shelter also located in Youngwood.  In addition, Kris offers sessions for both people and animals, including distance treatments.  She also offers classes in Japanese Reiki and Animal Reiki in the Laurel Highlands (SW PA) area.

John Sawyer - SARA Teacher

John Sawyer is a software engineer and Reiki Teacher who has been owned by 10 dogs over the past 17 years. Through those years, he and his wife, Donna, have dealt with a number of canine health crises which led them through the mainstream veterinary field to alternative health care modalities including acupuncture and Reiki. John took Reiki Level 1 in 1994 and experimented with applying the Reiki techniques to caring for his dogs, eventually taking Level 2 before becoming a Teacher in 2004. He is currently building his animal Reiki practice and offering Reiki training to local shelters and other animal workers in the Lehigh Valley area of Eastern PA.

Vermont

Kelly McDermott-Burns - SARA Teacher

Kelly McDermott-Burns has been practicing Reiki since 2004 and teaching since 2006. She is a Teacher/Practitioner trained in the Japanese Art of Reiki by the International House of Reiki and trained in Animal Reiki by Animal Reiki Source.

Kelly is a certified teacher of the Shibumi International Reiki Association and a Founding and Teaching Member of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association. Also a past President of the Vermont Reiki Association (2006-2009), Kelly remains an active member of the VRA. In addition to volunteering Reiki at Rutland County Humane Society, Kelly is a trained hospice and palliative care volunteer.

George Belev - SARA Teacher

George Belev is a founding member of SARA and has been practicing complementary therapies since 1997.  He is a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, Shinpiden Animal Reiki Master/Teacher, Healing Touch for Animals Certified Practitioner, a Pet Massage Instructor, and a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner.   George is co-founder of a business that offers cooperative, energy-based modalities to people and animals in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties. George is the certification director for Healing Touch for Animals/Komitor Healing Methods (HTA/HKM) and is on the advisory and education councils for the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork (IAAMB).  He is a Pawsitive Partners Prison Program Dog Trainer (Monty’s Home, Wilmington, NC) and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

Karren O'Sullivan lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She believes in the healing power of animals and having the desire to be of service to the community.  As a Reiki III practitioner, she is committed to living her passion by offering Reiki healing to animals of all kinds in gratitude for their service to humanity.  She is open and willing to discuss travel options within her area. Margaret Dexter - SARA Practitioner

Margaret E. Dexter, PhD, has practiced Reiki since 1986 and has completed Level III in four different lineages. She studied Animal Reiki with Kathleen Prasad by correspondence course and teleclass in 2008. Margaret currently practices and teaches Reiki in Chattanooga, TN and is a volunteer at the Tennessee Humane Animal League's Pet Placement Center in Chattanooga. She does animal Reiki as distant healing so can work with any animals anywhere.

Carrie Dorsey-Higdon - SARA Teacher

Carrie Dorsey-Higdon is a Reiki Practitioner and Teacher in East Tennessee. Following her Level I, II and Teacher training in Usui/Tibetan Reiki 2007-2009, she completed her Animal Reiki Teacher training with Kathleen Prasad in December 2009. She was initiated into Shinpiden Level III Usui Reiki Ryoho with Frans Stiene, in April 2010.

Carrie is a volunteer at Horse Haven of Tennessee, Tennessee’s oldest and largest equine humane organization. She is continually inspired by the strength and courage of these amazing animals, who have suffered so much at the hands of humans. She will be teaching Animal Reiki classes in the Knoxville area starting summer 2010. Carrie and her husband Tommy live on a small farm just outside of Knoxville, with their animal family including horses, dogs and cats.

Jacquie Shankster - SARA Teacher

Jacquie Shankster is a Reiki Teacher and Practitioner in the Nashville and surrounding areas of middle Tennessee. She has been practicing Reiki since 2007 and in 2012 I trained with Kathleen completing a correspondence course and Animal Reiki III teacher level.

Felecia Childress - SARA Teacher

Felecia Childress is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia with a BA in Politics and a Minor in Dance. She has been a Dance Instructor for the past 28 years working with students age 3 to adult. She has always had a strong passion for animals since early childhood and that passion led to her interest in Animal Reiki. After receiving her first Reiki treatment several years ago she took the Level 1 & 2 Reiki class and began working as a practitioner focusing on animals and volunteering at her local SPCA.

Because of her love for teaching she went on to become a Reiki Master Teacher and a Karuna Reiki Master and teaches both Reiki classes for humans and animals through her business Dances With P.A.W.S. (People and Animal Wellness Solutions). She also offers private individual sessions for both animals and humans. Felecia volunteers her time offering Reiki sessions to the animals at the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA and teaches Animal Reiki classes there as well. She splits her time between Martinsville and Charlottesville, Virginia where she makes her home with her husband, Ford, an attorney in Charlottesville and their beloved animal family, Montana, Mr. Bojangles Dance, and Tony their 3 dogs, Kalli their cat, and Kimba their bird.

Allie Phillips - SARA Practitioner

Allie Phillips is a SARA Practitioner Member. She volunteers with King Street Cats in Alexandria, VA where she offers energy healing to cats entering the shelter with physical or emotional issues. In 2012, Allie started offering energy healing to horses at a farm in Aldie, Virginia. This work has greatly expanded her ability to listen to the messages and understand that animals give us. Allie is a nationally-recognized expert and advocate for animals and has recently published two animal protection books (Defending the Defenseless: A Guide to Protecting and Advocating for Pets and How Shelter Pets are Brokered for Experimentation: Understanding Pound Seizure). Her book Defending the Defenseless includes a chapter on healing animals that have been abused and Allie educates other that healing is an important aspect of animal protection.

Monique MacMillian - SARA Teacher

Monique McMillian is an Animal Reiki Teacher/Practitioner. Today, horses are her newest passion and she feels right at home at the horse facility where she is learning to ride. Monique is a volunteer at the North Bay Humane Society where she offers Reiki to the shelter animals on a weekly basis. She lives in North Bay, Ontario, Canada with her husband and two fur children, Samurai and Chloe.

Kristy McGale - SARA Teacher

Kristy is a Reiki Master and Animal Reiki Practitioner who owns a Professional Dog Walking Company that specializes in Reiki for Dogs. She can be heard saying “I owe it all to my 5 year old Rescue Dog Logan who has taught me the most valuable lessons.” Together Logan and Kristy are working towards spreading a deeper understanding of The Animal Human connection. Kristy is currently in the process of securing her first Animal Reiki Course with a local Rescue Society and enjoys welcoming Animal/ Human Reiki Clients.

Julie Abrahams - SARA Practitioner

Julie Abrahams has been dedicated to the practice of Reiki for over 12 years and is an animal Reiki practitioner who has studied under Frans Stiene of the International House of Reiki. Based in Forster on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Julie combines her experience working with Reiki and animals to specialize in providing treatments to performance and sport horses and their human companions. An experienced horsewoman, Julie offers a mobile Reiki service to horses and their human companions throughout the Mid North Coast, Hunter Valley and Central Coast Regions and is a Reiki volunteer at Horse Rescue Australia Inc.

Wendy Williams - SARA Practitioner

Wendy Williams is a SARA practitioner who lives in Tasmania, an Australian southern island. Wendy volunteers her time at the Mornington RSPCA where she offers Reiki to cats and dogs. She also has experience treating other farm animals. She has loved animals since a small child and has an affinity with them.

Caroline teaches both SARA level 1 & 2 Animal Reiki classes at Remus.  She is very keen to support her  SARA students and is passionate that they can be the best Animal Reiki Practitioners that they can be.  Caroline holds Reiki shares at Remus on a regular basis, to practice Japanese meditations and animal healing.  In her spare time she makes holistic animal healing pendants for dogs and cats and also rhythm beads and brow band beads for horses. She is a qualified Animal Bach flower practitioner and animal aromatherapist and is happily married with two sons and two Spaniels.
