Despite my life long devotion to animal rights I have never even thought it would have been possible to share the level of deep spiritual connection that I have experienced offering Reiki to shelter Animals. The stories are miraculous. I feel I am communicating trough Soul connection, merging in the species unity in harmony and joy. The little Creatures are so grateful for the healing and their love is the biggest gift I could receive. It is truly the most fulfilling experience in my life!

The article in the Spring Reiki News sent me to SARA's website. I celebrate the growing impact of your work. I plan to offer my services to the local humane shelter.

I wanted to order the handbook from your site, but got a "Harmful Site" warning that the website you use has had harmful activities connected with its use.

This is wonderful Kathleen thanks so much for the support and information. I look forward to partnering with a shelter that would like to launch a formalized Reiki program.

Until then.....I continue to go into the shelters and "just do my thing"...with the animals. They sure know what Reiki is, and I get such joy working with them :o)

I just had my first experience offering Reiki to horses at an equine rescue farm. It was amazing how they were attracted to me when I began flowing the Reiki. Some of them just hung around me soaking up whatever energy they could and others came and went. When they all had had their fill of the energy, they trotted off to romp in the pasture. I know that I received just as much as I gave. Can't wait to go back!

I am so glad I found this blog. I think you have to experience working with shelter animals to understand how much Reiki can help them. Reiki helps with the adjustment to shelter life, working through illness and injuries and helping animals peacefully prepare to let go during the last stage of their lives. Last week was a difficult one at the shelter. Three of our cats that were terminally ill had to be euthanized. I was called to the shelter to help these sweet cats peacefully let go at the end of their lives. Working at the shelter can be an emotional roller coaster, and it's not for everyone, but being able to give Reiki to the most deserving animals is a blessing.
All the Best,
Maureen

So happy to have an outlet to share Reiki stories!! Thanks Kathleen!
I volunteer at a local horse rescue, www.equinerescueassociation.org. They home approx 30 horses, I've been working with a couple of the most neglected horses that they have. Last week while working with one, he has had numerous knee surgeries and is in discomfort most days. It was a rainy day, so all the horses were in their stalls. Ringo accepted the Reiki energy so much, that when I was finished, he looked up at me and had a strand of drool about 10" long hanging from his mouth!! Kind of amusing, but he was a very relaxed horse...I'd never seen a horse drool before!

I will be working on a Belgian stallion tomorrow, the owner does logging with his team of Belgians. This is a new horse for him and he is in need of lots of training. I'll post with the results.

Have a blessed day!
