I particularly relate to your example of your mind's ebb and flow during the session, and how we so often experience Reiki's ebb and flow with the animals - so why not ourselves? Thanks for the story.

Hi Jodie,

What a timely reminder to me to just let Reiki happen. I have been explaining Reiki for animals to some people who sort of know what Reiki for humans is, but not for animals.
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself in this post.

Hi Jodie,

such a wonderful honest blog. It is so easy to get caught up in what 'humans' think! This has been my biggest lesson since becoming part of SARA. To have faith and to 'trust' and let the Reiki be!

HI Camille,

Thanks for sharing. I know others experience this "human trait" also, but it is nice to hear about it from them to!

Bless this dog's heart! Sounds as if he was/is a great teacher of "letting go". I, too, often think more than just let it happen and am constantly reminded by animals to let go of expectations especially when there are others watching! It sounds like you did wonderful from the validation from the shelter staff! Often the first time is the hardest time but you had a perfect teacher to help you along! CONGRATS!

Hi Jodie,
Thanks for a great example of how the more we just "let go" of all our human "stuff," the easier it becomes to really connect to the energy. Sounds like there are some great animal teachers waiting for your there...Keep up the great work!
