John & Kathleen, thanks for these insights and John this is a great article!

Over time I have become much more grounded to be able to go into shelters and experience and see what I see.

Actually, the Animals have brought out things in me that facilitated my healing process. While at times painful, I see how they mirror our inner environments, and how some of the so called "bad" behaviors they exhibit are fear based patterns that Reiki can help bring to the surface for renewal.

One thing I have learned most recently through the Animals, is that I need to just have "fun", to lighten up, and to engage in play :o)

Hi John:)

again a wonderful blog. As well as training the staff at Remus to offer Reiki I have also set up a Reiki healing group which meets once every couple of months. It is a group of other Reiki practitioners who cannot commit time every week but are able to meet with me at the healing group.

Back to normal now after my OP.... Onwards and upwards:)

Thanks for discussing this important topic, John. I've heard from so many people who were a bit fearful about going into the shelter to do Reiki, but when they faced their fears and tried it they found was that actually the animals healed THEM also. THEY were changed as well! They were so surprised at all the blessings they received as a result of their Reiki visit to help the animals. I really do hope many people read your article and make that step into their shelter!
